What is The Queen of Hearts Raffle?

The Queen of Hearts is a 50/50 Raffle sponsored by The Bardstown Rotary Club that gives you the opportunity to win money and support your community.

Players purchase raffle tickets online each month for a chance to win.

If your name is drawn, you will select a card from a game board containing 54 cards (a standard deck and 2 jokers, placed face down and sealed, purchased by a certified gaming vendor) If you select the Queen of Hearts, you win half the current pot, and the remaining portion will go to the Bardstown Rotary Club to fund its charitable missions.

If your card is not the Queen of Hearts, the pot will roll over to the next drawing.

Bonus: If your name is drawn, but your card is not the Queen of Hearts, you still win $100.

 

The Queen of Hearts drawing will occur on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 12:00 noon in person at the Nelson County Public Library or on Facebook Live under the Bardstown Rotary page.

The Bardstown Rotary Club will fund the initial pot with a jackpot of $500.

Tickets are $5 a piece with no limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased.

How do you play?

Tickets are purchased online at bardstownrotaryclub.org When you purchase a ticket, you make a selection for what card number you would like to purchase. All tickets are placed in a cylinder and one is selected by a Bardstown Rotary Club Member. If your name is drawn, the card you chose will then be flipped from the board. If the card is the queen of hearts, you win 50% of the current pot, if it is a joker, you win 20% of the pot. Bonus: If the card is not a joker or Queen of Hearts, you still win $100.

What if nobody wins?

If your name is drawn and your number is not the Queen of Hearts, all the tickets will be cleared from the database, and NEW tickets will be sold for the following months drawing. The pot will then roll over in to the next months drawing.

TICKETS DO NOT CARRY OVER FROM ONE DRAWING TO THE NEXT. A NEW TICKET MUST BE PURCHASED FOR EACH MONTH.

What if I win?

All winners are responsible for paying the applicable taxes on any prize they win. All prizes over $600.00 will be paid by check and Bardstown Rotary Club will issue the winner a W2G, which will require the winner to provide his/her social security number. No prize will be paid until this is complete.

To claim the winning prize, winner must issue a valid govt. issued ID, and claim the prize within 30 days, unclaimed prizes will be donated back to Bardstown Rotary Club.
